Valentine’s Day is coming up!! I wanted to arrange for some flowers to be delivered to a special someone and

Sunday, October 25th, 2009

have it arrive in her classroom. This is her last year before graduation and I wanted it to be a memorable one. So I contacted some of her friends to find out which class she has on that day. I specifically requested for the friends NOT to say anything to her out of resepect. Even if they do not want to help, I asked them to keep their mouth shut. I really want it to be a suprise.

Well..the friends could not keep their mouth shut and revealed my plans to her!!

Moments ago, she emails me to inform me that my actions are affecting her friends and that she doesn’t want any flowers because it is a waste of space.

Unfortunately, the flowers has already been paid for and will arrive on Valentines Day regardless.

What should I do? Why do I feel bad? Did I do something wrong? Am I at fault here??

Please help!

I would pull a "slick one" on her. I would call the florist and arrange for the flowers to be delivered to her home instead of at school. She may not be someone who likes to receive gifts in front of other people. So, it may not be that she doesn’t want the flowers…it may just be that she doesn’t want to get them at school.

If you send them to her at home she will still get to enjoy them and know that you care about her but it just won’t be a big production at school with the possibility of her friends at school teasing her.
:) Best Wishes,
Ms. Orchid

My wife will be induced Friday, and I have a few questions?

Sunday, October 25th, 2009

We took childbirth classes together, and my wife is adamant about not receiving painkillers, which is fine. The problem is I really love my wife, and I will hate seeing her in so much pain. So what are some tips on maintaining my cool so I can be as supportive as she needs me to be?

Also, I have arranged flowers to be delivered after the birth, and I’ll be giving her a diamond tennis bracelet, I brought for her in the beginning of her pregnancy. Do you think she’ll find that to be a little much, or do you think she’d like it? I would ask one of her friends, but they’d probably tell her.

Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

oh wow, you are a really nice husband… i didn’t get flowers.. that sucks for me !! =) i think that is very nice and very thoughtful… as for you to keep your cool… just stand by her side, and tell her to breath, and just remember it is not constant pain.. she will be ok.. tell her thank you for giving me the most beautiful child in the world, remind her how pretty she is, and that you thank god for giving someone soo special to you!! good luck !! =)

How do you clean/dust dried flower arrangements?

Sunday, October 25th, 2009

It depends on how fragile they are, but u can blow your hairdryer on low cool setting on them or use one of those lint cloth things. Also fill a garbage bag with rice, place arrangement in and toss around.

What is a good alternative to flower arrangements at a wedding?

Sunday, October 25th, 2009

I am helping a friend plan her wedding. Our budget is basically non-exsistent. We had planned to gather fresh flowers for the table centerpieces. Now we are having a drought and due to an accident on the bridge to our Island, we have had to stop irrigating! There is very little chance that we will be able to find flowers. Any creative suggestions will be appreciated! The wedding colors and blue and teal. No special theme – just inexpensive (or free would be even better). Thanks.

I went to a wedding a couple weeks ago and they had nice table centerpieces. They had heart shaped dishes (the bride got them for a dollar a piece at the dollar store) filled with hersheys kisses, hugs, etc. Then, she took some fake wedding rings, (a dollar a bag at the dollar store) and took 2 and tied them together with a piece of pretty white ribbon. She just scatterd them around the heart dishes. It was really really cute. At the main table, they had pretty much the same thing, except the main centerpiece was a picture of the couple in a really nice frame. Good luck!
