What flowers smell strongly or bad? What should I avoid in flower arrangements?

I am making flower arrangements for my wedding. I want to know which common flowers smell strongly so I can avoid them. For example, daisies tend to have a bad (IMO) smell and gardenias smell good but are strong.

Note: I don’t mean exotic flowers like the rotting corpse flower or other things not sold in a flower shop.

Lilies can be a bit cloying if there are multiples in your arrangements. Freesia’s have a gentle smell as do tulips. Roses vary, some are overpowering and others are gentle. I suggest you go to a florist and give them all a sniff. It will also depend on the time of year what flowers are available.

Help with an idea for a flower arrangement?

Well, in our county fair the theme is "A Treasure Chest for the County’s Best" It has to be a flower arrangment with dried artificial or real flowers.

I was thinking that the base would be a treasure map on sandpaper or something anyother ideas or some kind of link will be appreciated.

arrange them IN a treasure chest made of wicker weave.

and use lots of golden flowers, like sunflowers and the occasional red / blue / white dotted spray.

arrange so the chest is open and the flowers are like the gold bounty within.

Can you change the following sentences from informal to formal please?

1- "There’s a real need for English classes- some of the families who’ve recently settled in the area are very isolated- especially the women"

2- "A lot of the older members of our community are lonely but they won’t travel to the college for evening classes because they’re too frightened- and the bus service is useless. They’d like to carry on learning, and get out of the house, but they see the college as a place for youngsters"

3-"Lots of courses in the evening, but not very convenient if you have young kids-why can’t you provide more stuff in the daytime?"

4- "I’m not interested in flower arranging and stuff like that- i want to have a go on computer- things that’d help me get a job"

5- "I went in once to ask about courses but the staff were a bit snooty and unfriendly- i wouldn’t go back"

6-"Why don’t you do more interesting courses in things like world music, languages and art appreciation? Not everyone who lives round here is stupid, you know."

7- "I’d love to come to your classes but I’ve no-one to look after the kids"

8- "I wish they did salsa classes-or cookery. Me and my mates would go to that"

9-"I’d like to learn French, but i can’t drive and the buses stop after 7pm.

First of all stop using contractions and words such as "Lots", "stupid", "stuff", "youngsters" and replace them with "many", "simple", "crafts", etc.

Stop using dashes and use periods, commas and semicolons where necessary.

I’ll do the first one for you:

Some of the families who recently settled in the area are very isolated, especially the women. There is a real need for English classes for them to attend.

Have you ever been to flower shop? Do they help you make come up with different flower arrangements?

Can you combine flowers?

You can have whatever you want. If you go in and give them a general idea of what you want they can pick something out for you, or if you know what you want then you can just ask for it.
